Examinations

Here at Wings we believe following a syllabus gives structured framework for learning and teaching, ensuring safe, effective technique, and a consistent, gradual progression of skills for dancers. For students, a syllabus can provide clear goals, opportunities for formal assessment and recognition, increased confidence and sense of achievement, and the development of essential life skills such as discipline and perseverance.

We begin to introduce British Theatre Dance Association (BTDA) syllabus work from the age of 4, in Ballet, Tap and Acro. These go all the way from Preparatory up to Grade 8 and Advanced levels.

For Contemporary and Street dance, we follow the new and innovative iD-Company syllabus.

Both of these boards offer Ofqual-regulated graded exams, setting standards in performing arts education.

Performance Opportunities

Our Wings kids show is truly the highlight of each of our students years! We give the opportunity to every one of our students to perform in our full scale, annual production at the prestigious Junction Theatre. In each class we learn a routine to themed music and perform these as part of our show in front of over 250 people. We believe that each and every one of our students should have the chance to shine on stage!

Throughout the year Wings are invited to perform at various shows and festivals where we invite some of our students to represent us and show off their skills!
